Petr Brandejs was a professional banjo for 8 years, until he decided to rest a little bit and became a teacher in 2005. In the bands he played with (Bluegrass Cwrkot, Nugget (A), Jack Tottle Band, Early Grass Revival, Poutníci) he learned a lot about the traditional as well as modern music. Voted the Banjo Player of the Year in 1997, 1998 and 2001 in the Czech Republic, he also wrote a successful instructional book, How to play the 5-string banjo (in Czech) and released a DVD Czech Bluegrass Hit For The Five String Banjo in 2008. Married, two kids – sorry, ladies!

Ondra Kozák is one of the most talented young bluegrassers in the Czech Republic today. Not only is he a fine singer, but he is also and an excellent guitar player and can play the fiddle just the same. Visit his bluegrass guitar website on www.bluegrassguitar.wz.cz. Along with the Dutchman Ralph Schut, Ondra recorded an instructional DVD for guitarist who begin with bluegrass guitar (in Czech+English subtitles, relased in 2008). He is also a skilled songwriter and the band leader of his own band Křeni. And what’s more: He is NOT married!

Vilma Orlitová is as a singer influenced heavily by the women in bluegrass like Hazel Dickens and Alice Gerard. So if you like the traditional sound of bluegrass music, listening to this young lady singing will be just a pleasure for you. She toured the USA in summer of 2004 with Jirka Králík and Rowdy Rascals. She can play bass and guitar very well, and – by the way – she is a professional cook with already three daughters at home!
